Calibre Global provides project management, engineering and consultancy services to the resources and infrastructure industries and consists of four business units - Calibre Projects, Calibre Controls, Calibre Rail and Calibre Safety Services.
Calibre Projects is a results-focused provider of Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) services to the mining minerals, processing and energy industries and delivers projects from feasibility study through to commissioning. Based in our client office in Perth and reporting to the Contracts Manager, we require a Contracts Engineer to join the team.
The main purpose of this role is to ensure all contractual matters are properly and effectively negotiated, documented and implements according to project standards.
- In this position you will be required to :
- Review scopes of work and contract conditions
- Prepare contractual documents
- Administer tendering, evaluation and award of contracts
- Assess, review and advise Project Manager in respect of contractor claims for variations, progress claims and extensions
- Provide Project Manager with updates on contractor performance; assist with contract disputes; and ensure all commercial requirements of the contracts are satisfied
- Strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills You will also have the ability to work as part of a team and have good time management skills as well as a good knowledge of contract law.
- To be successful in this role the applicant would posess:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Engineering or Law coupled and/or experience in the administration, procurement and management of contracts and contractors and demonstrated commercial acumen within an engineering and construction environment
- Strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills
- Good knowledge of contract law.
