Calibre Projects is a results-focused provider of Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) services to the mining, minerals processing and energy industries.

We are seeking highly motivated individuals to fill the roles of Contracts Engineer.

Reporting directly to the Contracts Manager, this role ensures that all contractual matters are properly and effectively negotiated, documented and implemented according to project standards. This position will be responsible for the establishment of construction contracts and the ongoing management and closeout of these contracts.  This will be a Perth based role with occasional site visits required.

The role involves:
  • Reviewing the scopes of work and contract conditions for one of our major projects.
  • Preparing contractual documents.
  • Administering tending, evaluation and award of contracts.
  • Administering contractual aspects of major contracts.
  • Assessing, reviewing and advising Project Managers is respect to contract claims for variations, progress claims and extensions.
  • Providing the Project Managers with updates on contractor performance and assisting in the resolution of contract disputes.
  • Ensuring that all commercial requirements of the contract are satisfied.Offering a long term on going contract, excellent rates of pay and a structured retention bonus from the client, this role will be responsible for in providing the Project Managers with updates on contractor performance and assisting in the resolution of contract disputes.
To be successful in this role the applicant would possess:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Commercial, Engineering or Law) and have significant experience in the administration and management of contracts and contractors, in particular with construction contracts.

  • You will also have strong communication and negotiation skills and possess good time management skills with the ability to prioritise.

  • A sound working knowledge of contract law is required.
